ANWETECH successfully completed a flame detection system installation for a boat making yard in the Maldives. The project used 10 units of AT-FD01-UVIR2 UV/IR flame detectors to improve fire detection performance across key shipyard working areas, including boat production zones, material storage areas, workshop sections, and open yard operating spaces.
The AT-FD01-UVIR2 uses UV + IR dual-spectrum flame detection technology. It is designed for fast fire detection in industrial and hazardous environments where flame risk is present.
Key technical features include:
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Detection Technology | UV + IR flame detection |
| Detection Distance | Up to 35–40 meters depending on fuel type |
| Response Time | ≤10 seconds for typical flame scenarios |
| Field of View | Up to 120° |
| Explosion-Proof Grade | Ex db IIC T6 Gb |
| Protection Rating | IP66 / IP67 |
| Application Environment | Outdoor, industrial, marine, and hazardous areas |
The detector is suitable for harsh operating environments and can be used in applications where fast flame detection, stable operation, and strong environmental protection are required.
For this boat yard project, UVIR2 flame detection was selected because it provides several advantages for marine and industrial fire protection:
Fast flame response
The detector can identify flame radiation quickly, helping the site respond before the fire develops into a larger incident.
Suitable for open and semi-open areas
In shipyard and boat production environments, airflow and open working areas may affect smoke accumulation. Flame detection provides a more direct method for identifying fire risk.
Wide detection coverage
With a wide field of view, one detector can monitor a large risk area when installed at the correct position and angle.
Reliable performance in harsh environments
The IP66/IP67 protection rating and explosion-proof design make the detector suitable for demanding industrial and outdoor marine conditions.
Reduced false alarm risk
The UV + IR detection principle helps improve alarm reliability compared with single-spectrum detection methods.
This project helps the boat yard improve fire safety management in high-risk production and storage areas. By using UVIR2 flame detectors, the site can detect flame hazards faster and support earlier emergency response.
The main project benefits include:
The AT-FD01-UVIR2 flame detector is suitable for many high-risk industrial and marine applications, including:
Boat making yards and shipbuilding facilities involve processes such as welding, coating, and fuel handling, which significantly increase fire risk.
The UVIR2 flame detection system provides real-time flame monitoring, enabling faster response and improved fire protection performance in industrial marine environments.
