Product Overview

The AT-FD-T01 Explosion-Proof UV/IR Flame Simulator is a photoelectric testing device developed for safe and convenient flame detector testing.

During operation, the device generates both ultraviolet and infrared radiation to simulate the optical characteristics of a real flame. It allows technicians to check whether a compatible flame detector can detect the simulated flame signal and initiate an alarm response.

Unlike conventional testing methods that require a naked flame, the AT-FD-T01 performs detector testing without creating an actual fire. This makes it particularly suitable for industrial and hazardous locations where the use of an open flame is restricted or prohibited.

The unit features an explosion-proof enclosure, IP65 protection, rechargeable operation and a maximum recommended test distance of up to 8 metres.

During testing, the flame detector remains connected to its normal fire alarm or control system. The AT-FD-T01 is aimed toward the detector to simulate a flame signal and verify the detector’s alarm response.

Recommended Testing Procedure

  1. Fully charge the AT-FD-T01 before testing.
  2. Confirm that the flame detector and fire alarm system are powered and operating normally.
  3. Check that the detector’s spectral response is compatible with ultraviolet or infrared flame simulation.
  4. Stand within the recommended test distance.
  5. Aim the front optical window directly toward the flame detector.
  6. Activate the flame simulator.
  7. Maintain a stable aiming direction until the detector responds.
  8. Confirm the detector alarm indication and the corresponding control-panel event.
  9. Reset the fire alarm system after completing the test.

Actual response time may vary depending on detector type, sensitivity setting, viewing angle, test distance and programmed alarm algorithm.
