Description

Product Overview

The ANWETECH AT-FD02-UV Point Type UV Flame Detector is designed to detect ultraviolet radiation generated by flames. It uses narrow-band UV detection in the 185–260 nm range, combined with full pulse analysis and progressive-slope signal processing to improve flame identification stability and reduce interference.

This detector is suitable for areas where fire may develop rapidly with strong flame radiation, especially liquid fuel fire risks with little or no smoldering stage. Typical applications include petroleum facilities, chemical plants, substations, engine rooms, power stations, LPG stations, garages, fueling stations, and other locations where open flames are strictly prohibited.

The detector provides a 6-wire connection, including power input, fire alarm relay contact, and fault relay contact. It can be connected to fire alarm systems through an input module or relay interface.

Wiring / Output / Relay

The AT-FD02-UV uses a 6-wire connection:

Wire Color Signal / Function Wiring Instruction
Red +24 VDC Connect to 24V control power from controller
Black GND / 0V Connect to control power GND
White / Yellow Fire alarm relay contact output Normally open; closes on alarm; connect to alarm module input
Blue / Green Fault relay contact output Normally closed; opens on fault; connect to alarm module input through end-of-line resistor or wire in series in the module loop

The detector can be connected to a conventional or addressable fire alarm system through an input module, depending on the project design.

Application Scenarios

The AT-FD02-UV is suitable for industrial and hazardous locations where rapid flame detection is required, including:

  • Petroleum production, storage, and transportation areas
  • Chemical plants and flammable material storage areas
  • LPG stations and gas filling stations
  • Fueling stations and garages
  • Engine rooms and power stations
  • Substations and electrical facilities
  • Industrial workshops where open flames are prohibited
  • Harsh environments where ordinary smoke or heat detectors may not respond fast enough to flame fire risks

Important Application Notes

The AT-FD02-UV is not recommended for locations where dense smoke appears before visible flame, where the detector lens may be easily contaminated, or where the line of sight may be blocked by oil mist, smoke, water mist, rain, or snow.

It should also not be installed where sunlight, incandescent lamps, strong arc light, radioactive materials, or intense UV radiation may directly or indirectly affect the sensing window.
