Description

Product Overview

The AT-SH-T01 Automatic Telescopic Smoke and Heat Detector Tester is designed for installation inspection, commissioning, routine maintenance and functional testing of point-type fire detectors.

The tester integrates smoke testing and heat testing functions into a single portable device. It can be used for testing smoke detectors and heat detectors installed at elevated positions without requiring ladders or scaffolding in most normal installation environments.

For smoke detector testing, the tester uses electronic atomization technology with environmentally friendly smoke test liquid. Compared with traditional incense-stick testing, it does not produce ash or oily smoke residue, helping reduce contamination inside the smoke detector chamber.

For heat detector testing, the tester uses an electronic heating element capable of producing an outlet temperature above 90°C. The heating process does not require an open flame or replaceable fuel.

The tester is supplied with a telescopic extension pole and a protective aluminum carrying case for convenient storage, transportation and on-site operation.

Key Features

2-in-1 Detector Testing

Combines smoke detector testing and heat detector testing in one portable device.

Automatic Obstacle Sensing

The sensor automatically detects when the tester head approaches a detector and starts the selected testing function.

Three Operating Modes

The mode selector provides three operating positions:

  • Smoke testing mode
  • Air-blowing mode
  • Heat testing mode

Electronic Aerosol Smoke Generation

Uses electronically atomized smoke test liquid without producing ash or traditional incense residue.

Flameless Heat Testing

The electronic heating element provides an outlet temperature above 90°C without an open flame.

3.5 m Telescopic Extension Pole

The extension pole allows technicians to test detectors installed on ceilings and other elevated locations.

Transparent Smoke Liquid Container

The 10 ml transparent liquid container allows the operator to observe the remaining smoke test liquid.

Rechargeable Battery

Equipped with a DC 7.4 V, 2200 mAh rechargeable battery.

Portable Protective Case

Supplied in an aluminum alloy carrying case with internal protective foam for transportation and storage.

Self-Locking Operating Switch

The self-locking switch allows continuous operation during testing and helps prevent accidental activation during storage.

Wiring-Output-Relay

The AT-SH-T01 is a standalone detector testing device.

It does not require wiring to a fire alarm control panel and does not provide alarm relay outputs.

The tester is powered by its internal rechargeable battery. During testing, the technician should observe whether the detector activates and whether the connected fire alarm control panel correctly receives the alarm signal.

The product is intended for general indoor and non-explosion-proof environments. It should not be used in hazardous areas requiring explosion-proof electrical equipment.

Operating Instructions

1. Charge the Tester

Insert the charger into the charging port.

  • Red charging indicator: battery is charging
  • Green charging indicator: battery is fully charged

For the first charge, charge the battery for at least eight hours.

2. Open the Filling Port

Use the supplied tool to loosen the filling-port screw by turning it counterclockwise.

3. Draw the Smoke Test Liquid

Use the supplied syringe to draw approximately 3 ml of smoke test liquid.

4. Fill the Smoke Liquid

Tilt the tester head slightly and slowly inject the smoke test liquid into the filling port.

Make sure the liquid enters the internal container correctly.

5. Tighten the Filling Screw

After filling, tighten the filling-port screw clockwise.

6. Connect the Extension Pole

Connect the tester head and telescopic extension pole by rotating them clockwise until securely tightened.

7. Select the Testing Mode

Use the mode selector to choose the required function:

  • Upper position: smoke test
  • Middle position: air blowing
  • Lower position: heat test

8. Turn On the Tester

Press the self-locking power switch.

  • Recessed position: tester switched on
  • Flush position: tester switched off

9. Position the Tester Around the Detector

Raise the tester head until the detector enters the testing cup.

The obstacle sensor detects the detector and automatically starts the selected test.

10. Confirm the Alarm

Wait for the detector to activate and verify that the fire alarm control panel receives the correct alarm signal.

Testing Recommendations

Smoke Detector Testing

For a typical smoke detector, approximately three seconds of smoke injection is normally sufficient.

After applying the smoke, allow time for the detector polling cycle and alarm response.

Avoid applying excessive smoke, as this increases smoke liquid consumption, battery consumption and detector recovery time.

Heat Detector Testing

Position the heat outlet as close as possible to the heat-sensing element inside the detector.

The closer the heating outlet is to the sensing element, the faster the detector will respond.

Do not keep the heater operating longer than necessary after the detector has activated.

Important Safety Instructions

  • Fully charge the battery before first use.
  • Recharge the battery after extended periods of storage.
  • Always switch off the self-locking switch after testing.
  • Do not leave the tester leaning against a wall while switched on.
  • Make sure the filling-port screw is securely tightened before operation.
  • Use only suitable detector test liquid.
  • Do not overfill the internal liquid container.
  • Do not use the product in areas requiring explosion-proof equipment.
  • Do not expose the charger or electrical components to water.
  • Store the tester and accessories in the supplied carrying case.
  • Do not touch the heat outlet immediately after heat testing.
  • Allow the tester head to cool before returning it to the carrying case.
