The FM200 HFC-227ea Clean Agent Fire Suppression System is a UL-listed engineered type system developed for protection of high-value assets and mission-critical facilities. It employs HFC-227ea (Heptafluoropropane) as the extinguishing agent — a colorless, odorless, and electrically non-conductive gas that leaves no residue after discharge. The agent is environmentally safe with ODP = 0 and a moderate atmospheric lifetime of 36.5 years.
The system consists of super-pressurized cylinders (25 bar or 42 bar) filled with HFC-227ea and dry nitrogen, connected to a manifold and discharge nozzles. It can be activated automatically, electrically, or mechanically and is compliant with NFPA 2001 and UL 2166 standards. Each system is custom-engineered through hydraulic flow calculations to ensure uniform distribution and optimum extinguishing concentration in the protected area.
The HFC-227ea agent extinguishes fire primarily by heat absorption (80 %) and secondarily by chemical inhibition (20 %), allowing rapid fire knock-down while remaining safe for occupied spaces below the NOAEL level (9 %).
